Plot

When I sat down to watch the 2024 movie «Curse of the Sin Eaters» directed by Justin Denton, I had never heard of him. But the film’s cover proved interesting enough, and the fact that it was a horror film I hadn’t seen yet, and given my fascination with the horror genre, of course I didn’t need any convincing to sit down and watch the film. I literally had no idea what was in store for me here, so Pilgrim writers Adam Davis and Will Corona basically had every opportunity to impress and entertain me. You have to be well over halfway through the movie before things start happening. And truth be told, I have to admit that my interest in history was waning at that point.

Visually, you are not in for a great horror cinema experience

So screenwriters Adam Davis and Will Corona Pilgrim kind of dropped the ball and never got it back on track. The entire cast of the film was made up of actors and actresses that I did not know. And that’s actually something that spoke in favor of the film, because I like to see unknown talents on screen. And I will say that despite the mediocre script and story, the acting in «Curse of the Sin Eaters» was spot on. There were some simple special effects throughout the film, but it wasn’t enough to divert the film from the mediocre path.
