Plot

The Jackal is an elusive killer who earns his living by carrying out contract killings for the highest fees

Soon he meets a worthy rival in the face of a tenacious British scout, who tracks him down in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel «Day of the Jackal» was filmed in 1963 and included an attempt on the then president of France, Charles de Gaulle.

The show moves the setting to the modern era. Eddie Redmayne stands out in Day of the Jackal, bringing depth and intensity to his role, keeping the audience on edge with every move.

However, Lashana Lynch feels a little out of place in her role here

His performance elevates the story, adding layers of intrigue that make him a compelling lead. Despite her talent, her acting is not quite in sync with Redmayne’s subtle delivery, sometimes disrupting the flow and immersion.

A stronger main character would have elevated it

It makes you wonder about the casting — could the second couple have made it an instant classic? A stronger balance between the main characters could have brought the epic impact that the story deserves.
